Our Internal Engine Services Include

Belts & Hoses
Engine belts and hoses play an important role in keeping your truck running reliably. Serpentine belts power components like the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor, while timing belts (where equipped) help keep the engine's internal components operating in sync. Coolant hoses circulate coolant between the engine and radiator to help prevent overheating.

Over time, belts can crack, stretch, or wear out, and hoses can become brittle or develop leaks. Regular inspections can help identify worn components before they fail and lead to engine damage or unexpected breakdowns.

Cooling System
Your truck's cooling system helps regulate engine temperature and prevent overheating. Components like the radiator, water pump, thermostat, cooling fan, and coolant hoses work together to circulate coolant and remove excess heat from the engine.

A problem with any of these components can lead to poor cooling performance and increase the risk of engine damage. Regular cooling system inspections and maintenance can help identify leaks, worn parts, or other issues before they become major repairs. At Hensley's Family Auto Service, we service and replace cooling system components to help keep your truck running at the proper temperature.

Diesel
Diesel engines are known for their durability and long service life, but routine maintenance is still essential for dependable performance. Regular service helps protect critical engine components, improve efficiency, and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns.

Common diesel maintenance services include:

  • Oil and filter changes
  • Air filter replacement
  • Fuel filter replacement
  • Fuel system bleeding
  • Water separator service
  • DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) system maintenance

We provide the maintenance and repairs needed to help keep your diesel engine performing reliably for the long haul.

Exhaust
Your truck's exhaust system safely directs exhaust gases away from the engine while helping reduce emissions and control noise. A damaged or leaking exhaust system can affect performance, fuel efficiency, and driver safety.

Whether you need exhaust repairs, component replacement, or a complete exhaust system service, Hensley's Family Auto Service can help restore proper operation and keep your truck running efficiently.

Water Pumps
The water pump is a key part of your truck's cooling system, circulating coolant through the engine and radiator to help maintain safe operating temperatures. A failing water pump can lead to coolant leaks, overheating, and engine damage if left unaddressed. Common signs of a failing water pump include coolant leaks, unusual noises, or frequent overheating.

What Happens During an Engine Inspection?

An engine inspection is designed to evaluate the condition and performance of key engine systems before minor concerns develop into larger repairs. The exact inspection may vary depending on the vehicle, but technicians typically examine components that affect reliability, efficiency, and overall engine operation.

During an engine inspection, technicians may check:

  • Engine oil and other fluid levels
  • Visible oil, coolant, or fuel leaks
  • Belts and hoses for signs of wear
  • Cooling system components
  • Battery and charging system
  • Warning lights and diagnostic trouble codes
  • Engine sensors and electrical connections
  • Visible engine components for wear or damage

Routine engine inspections can help identify developing issues early, allowing repairs to be planned before they lead to reduced performance, unexpected downtime, or more extensive engine damage.

Why Engine Warning Lights Shouldn't Be Ignored

Engine warning lights are designed to alert drivers when the vehicle detects a problem that may affect performance, efficiency, or reliability. While some warnings may indicate a minor issue, others can signal a developing problem that requires prompt attention to help prevent more extensive repairs.

Ignoring warning lights can allow small issues to become larger, more costly repairs over time. If an engine warning light appears, having the vehicle professionally inspected and diagnosed can help identify the underlying cause and keep your fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Wayne and his team are the best. They went above and beyond to provide great customer service and repairs at a very fair and reasonable price. I recommend them highly and will take all my cars to Wayne going forward.

These folks are amazing! I ran out of gas directly across from their shop and called to ask for a gas can to borrow. Instead of just letting me borrow a can, the gentleman came out with a can of fuel and filled my vehicle so that I could make it to a gas station. He would not accept any money for the help or the fuel. What a kind and generous gesture! Very wonderful people!

Great place! I had to get headlight bulbs put in my car. They did this for no charge which was incredibly nice of them. I have had my car serviced there in the past and will continue to do so. I highly recommend them for all your car needs. And as a bonus there is always some kind of animal to see!
